5 Best Wedding Venues Dundee
Thinking about where to get married in Dundee?
The good news is, wherever you decide to tie the knot - these venues have something for everyone, from magical castles to unique quayside vistas. I have named five of my favourite Dundee venues which I have found create a lovely environment for a wedding day and offer great photographic opportunities throughout.
If you want amazing couple portraits with scenic landmarks - easy. If staying in one place and not leaving your guests and the party is a priority, say less! Having a small intimate wedding and don’t want to have a large empty room? Or having an enormous wedding and need lots of outside and internal spaces? Lets go through some of the best options!
In my humble opinion - this is one of the most beautiful venues for a small to medium size wedding (up to 120 guests). If you want exceptional food, rustic and beautiful surroundings and friendly staff, set in a gorgeous fairytale Mansion - Taypark House may be the venue for you! I adore the image opportunities here, as well as the ability to nip to the City centre in minutes, or simply stay at the venue with its homely atmosphere.
2. The Quay Dundee
Situated in the Quay, literally hanging over the water facing the Frigate Unicorn the Quay is a unique and amazing venue with lots of hidden advantages over its Dundee neighbours. Being right in the centre of town, this fun Dundee wedding venue benefits from great hotel options for your out of town guests, as well as being a stones throw from the train & bus station. Photographic gold is all around at this venue, Chandlers lane pictured below is a personal favourite for groups shots and portraits. The V&A and the new waterfront development are a short stroll away and i think you’ll agree that adding some images here to your wedding album is an opportunity not to be missed! This modern venue boasts space and capacity offering seating for up to 220 guests at your ceremony.
3. The Landmark
Ideally situated within six acres of beautiful landscaped gardens, this venue offers a convenient ‘all in one’ venue on the outskirts of the city centre, with easy access to the A90 North and South.
This hotel has something for all styles, modern rooms that seat up to 130 guests, as well as original features in the 1870 mansion house, there is also beautiful grounds, nature and a spa..In my opinion its one of the best Scottish venues for having your full day catered to in one location. Dundonians fondly remember this hotel as the Swallow, or even the Hilton as it became. For you and me though, its just a great venue with great staff, great food, and the BEST light in the large conservatory. If you are worried about weather - this place is bulletproof. Photos look amazing in the glass suite if your outdoor ceremony was foiled by mother nature. There are also plenty superchargers for your Tesla too!
4. Forbes of Kingennie

The hotel and surrounding grounds are a favourite for those seeking a resort atmosphere away from the City. The thoughts of Scottish countryside, peace and quiet before and after your big day are relaxing me as I write this. It also boasts beautiful greenery and water features which are a perfect backdrop for your wedding photos. The ceremony room is stunning, seating up to 150 guests, however they also offer a ‘Micro wedding package’ which is perfect for those seeking an elopement or smaller family get together. Combine these benefits and you have a favourite luxury wedding venue of Scottish wedding photographers.
5. Piperdam Resort
Much like Forbes of Kingennie, Piperdam is perfect wedding venue on the outskirts of Dundee, combining luxury along with first class service. With fantastic countryside scenery and the gorgeous loch at the centre of the resort, anyone looking for a venue offering stunning views and picturesque loch-side photo opportunities will be delighted. Facilities to look after large celebrations, and beautiful lodges to relax before and after the big day.
