Crossbasket Castle: The Dream Scottish Wedding Venue
A couple from Washington D.C. eloped to Crossbasket Castle, bringing with them 60 amazing family and friends. We provided photo & video coverage of their incredible wedding. They had the most fun and beautiful wedding, resulting in amazing photos and videos to treasure forever.
Emma and Matthew did not want to have the typical wedding they were used to being guests at in the U.S.A.
Can you imagine how different this is to the norm in America? This is one of my all time favourite and most memorable weddings, I can only imagine how the couple and their guests feel about the experience. Absolutely timeless.
This is the short highlight film which is designed to be fun and exciting. I tend to go with what the wedding felt like, which in this case was fun and beautiful. The longer feature film is similar in style but has more in depth moments. Accompanying these two films are the full ceremony and speeches from multiple camera angles. I loved all the angles of the speeches, which we also lit from spotlights, adding to the romantic atmosphere.
One of my favourite things about this wedding was the fact that our presence went almost entirely unnoticed. The American style timeline meant that after the first look at 11.30am, the group photos followed and a couple shoot for 15minutes meant from 12 noon until midnight, there was no leaving guests or entertaining the photographer for shots. We had it all, and candidly captured the rest of the day.
There were three of us photographing and filming. Ben was performing photography and videography, Ross key videography and myself photography and videography. This means there were two angles of photography and three of videography, with the footprint of three people. I edit all the photographs and video giving a coherent and cohesive style across the photo and videos. It’s a lot of work but it is how I manage to keep the number of weddings I shoot down, and keep the quality at maximum effort!
