Atmospheric foggy beach engagement shoot - St. Cyrus

Returning to the place that Joseph proposed in summer, we were met with a different scene. Incredibly thick fog! Dehaze set at -100!

Having shot a wedding in torrential rain and freezing fog in Glen Clova, unlike that wedding, I wasn’t nervous at all. Fog is awesome. It’s like natures blurry background! Another cool thing about fog is while it takes away all of the wonderful shadows to play with - it does give you a 360 degree soft box of soft light.

Eilidh and Joseph were both quite camera shy initially. I actually prefer this to very confident couples - some people are really keen to look straight at the lens and besides formal group photos - it’s not my thing!

How fun are these photos?! If you like the engagement shoot below, you will be sure to enjoy the magical wedding at Kinettles Castle that followed a few weeks later.

On a wedding day the photographer is always rushing to get great photographs and minimise the time the couple are away from guests. It really is a lovely change to have time to talk and relax. If you are interested in a pre wedding engagement shoot please get in touch, I love it and so will you!
