I always get extremely excited about Taypark House weddings! The light in the ceremony room, or the beautiful photo opportunities outside for an outdoor ceremony or family candids and formals.
I started the day at the Stables photographing the beautiful, cosy environment with a really cool table layout I had never seen here before.
I met with Rhona and her ladies, had some giggles and photographed her wedding details. I was not doing photo & film this day, but made a wonderful alliance with Kyle - a fantastic corporate videographer. I had some daft ideas that worked well for his film like spinning all the dresses on the middle chandelier. It also gave me a place to hide and get some belly laughs and intimate moments without the ladies feeling the presence of the camera. Next up was Jamie and his Groomsmen.
The ceremony comprised of 250 delivered images alone. So many great moments. I normally run around quite a bit, but put on a long lens on one of my cameras to keep out of the video. If I was doing the video I wouldn’t mind walking in front of my own camera, knowing another camera is covering a different angle, and Ben moving his position to compensate.
After the ceremony it was 2.35pm and sundown was 2.45. We worked fast to get beautiful newly wed portraits with dwindling natural winter light. So happy we got these as I knew I would get lots of off camera flash images, but I still love the variety of daylight. It is especially important to use daylight for video!!!
The speeches were utterly hilarious. The groom had made a rap instead of a conventional speech, which had the crowd participating and laughing so much - it needed to be played twice. The best man speech was brutal!
