Edinburgh Elopement Photographer

Planning an Elopement wedding in Scotland? Fallen in love with the architecture, history and atmosphere of the capital city? Trust me, I get it.

Sarah & Cameron are from Northern Carolina and planned their Scottish Elopement Photography during the pandemic in 2020. The wedding day around the City featured a first look in Princes Street Gardens, beside the Ross Waterfall for an amazing image of the castle and them seeing each other for the first time on before the ceremony. This is a go to on elopements because of travel implications, and it would be rubbish to be on your own all morning!

After getting ready and the first look, we travelled to the highest 5 star rated Prestonfield House. Here in this historical building built in 1687 they married in an intimate room perfect for a small wedding. Fire cracking, candles all around - and the stunning surrounds fit for the Queen.

After the ceremony we had some incredible food, but the cake with a sword… had some photos inside and on the grounds before leaving for the Royal mile. Here Edinburgh provided some exercise walking up to the castle as well as stunning images of ancient medieval architecture, views across the city as well as an injection of modern life and action.

Some considerations if you are planning an Edinburgh elopement.

Travel

Getting around can be done on foot. You might not want to do this in a heavy dress, in heels. Taxis are a great way to move around the city. A private driver for the day will cost somewhere between £150-250 and solves all the problems that could occur from having suppliers with parking costs, and finding parking.

Traffic and busy events

Edinburgh can be incredibly busy at times. Internal tourism from neighbouring parts of the country are high around December with the Edinburgh Christmas Market. The Edinburgh Fringe Festival closes off entire parts of the town. Random pop up events can cause traffic problems, the Scottish government as well as hectic rush hours in the morning and after 5pm.
