You have arrived at the very place I hope you book your wedding - it is absolutely breathtaking at Carberry Tower castle.

The 600 year old castle - unlike many that offer weddings - hosts much of the wedding inside the Castle. Grand rooms like the library, various suites and the stair cases, whisky room - all stunning places just to be and hold a canapé or a glass of something delicious. I stayed over the evening before Jessica & Conor’s wedding and ate incredibly well. The room was beautiful too - 5 stars on trip advisor from me!

Enter the candid wedding photographer Edinburgh. What is like for photos? Incredible is the answer. Nothing short of a dream venue. This October wedding was on the back of storm Babet, which made my outdoor Edinburgh elopement the day before very difficult and cold and wet for the brave couple. I was in no fear of the elements for this wedding - rain or shine, summer or winter this is an ideal venue hosting amazing indoor photographic treasures.

September and October are my two favourite months. Not only are the colours fantastic, the more forgiving lower sun, cooler climate are main factors in this. As you can see above the colours are just beautiful. The drive way is a fairytale. We walked out of the stunning ceremony room straight to the driveway for 5 minutes while the guests gathered inside for drinks.

The ceremony room is gorgeous. It features an upstairs for an extra level of photography! The greenery outside brings contrast to the warm atmospheric colours inside.

First kiss for couple at Carberry Tower

I always love running down the aisle after getting the first kiss from the back of the room, and getting this beauty with all the guests clapping. It makes for the best in the moment candid photo.

Love running round for a second kiss!

The library is a stunning location for group photos. The elegant and regal (many of the suites are named after kings and queens) nature of the surroundings warrants images like below.

Good fun photoshopping out the parked cars!

Of course, only a sword will do for cutting a cake in a 600 year old castle.

September weddings onwards to March are the months in Scotland where sparklers are possible. I highly recommend to all to do a sparkler shot - it’s just a little bit magical.

If you are looking at wedding photography at Carberry Tower I do have a few suggestions. While I shot this wedding on my own and it is by no means a necessity - I would highly recommend having two photographers. This is mainly because of the scale of the place and the number of locations on site. It does take time moving between them all! I had very tired legs by the end of the night. This wedding was attended by lovely well behaved people which made it a breeze to photograph. However a large gathering can mean groups are in different places, and two photographers is better than one. Carberry tower is a candid photographers dream - you can weave from room to room unseen, setting us up with great images.
